DAY 1: MARRAKECH - AIT BENHADDOU - OUARZAZATE - DADÈS GORGE
We will pick you up from your hotel/riad in Marrakech and head to the Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n'Tichka pass, the direct route to Ouarzazate. It is a spectacular and impressive road that presents fabulous views of the snow-capped peaks of the Atlas Mountains, as well as many Berber villages. In the descent we will arrive at the site of the cultural heritage of Morocco; the Ksar (fortified city) of Ait Ben Haddou. It was once an important stop on the caravan routes that brought salt from the Sahara desert and back, gold and ivory. It is the best preserved and fortified kasbah, with high sheer walls of dark red clay, impenetrable in this remote hillside location. After our visit, we will pass the desert city of Ouarzazate and continue on the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs passing through the oasis of Skoura and the Valley of Roses to the Dadès Gorge, where we will spend the night.
DAY 2: DADÈS GORGE - TODGHA GORGE - MERZOUGA
Breakfast at the hotel, continue to the gorges of the Dades Gorges to enjoy spectacular views and a walk. You will be taken back through the Dades Gorges Valley to the Todra Gorges by Boulman Dades Gorges; On the way there will be a stop for photos and you can admire the Tinghir palm valley, before reaching the Todra Gorges, where you will have free time to walk on your own along the Todra River. After a tea with mint, you will go to the Merzouga desert through the Anti Atlas and Tafilalet oasis until you reach the Erg Chebbi sand dunes to take a camel ride and spend the night in the middle of the dunes. Enjoy the sunset in the dunes and a local dinner and drum party in a typical Bivoauc nomad camp.
DAY 3: MERZOUGA - MIDELT - IFRANE - FES
Get up early in the morning to watch the sun rise over the dunes. Enjoy your breakfast in the desert, then return to your vehicle for the onward journey to the holy city of Rissani, the birthplace of Moulay Ali Sherif, the 17th-century ruler and founder of the Alaouite dynasty that rules Morocco. . Continue to Midelt for lunch (own expense), then head along the Ziz River, where fortified kasbahs (traditional Moroccan fortresses) stand among dense palm groves.
Travel through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains and continue through the fertile plains of Saiss, home to native flora and fauna. In the early afternoon, arrive at your riad or your hotel in Fes, where your 3-day tour will come to an end.
DIA 2: GARGANTA DEL DADÈS - GARGANTA DEL TODGHA- MERZOUGA
Desayuno en el hotel, seguirá a los desfiladeros de Gargantas del Dades para disfrutar de unas vistas espectaculares y un paseo.
